Survive in this Minecraft-inspired game

Craft Loki Maxi Earth is a free-to-play simulation where you can roam and farm across a randomly-generated 3D space. In this open-world adventure, you break blocks, craft tools and items, and build structures. From the graphics to the game mechanics, it’s safe to say that this game is heavily inspired by Minecraft.

Without a doubt, Craft Loki Maxi Earth joins the increasing ranks of cube-based games borrowing elements from the Mojang Studios hit video game. Other alternatives with similar graphics and mechanics include The Blockheads and Pixel Worlds: MMO Sandbox.

Explore another cubic world

The graphics for Craft Loki Maxi Earth are exactly what you’d expect: a world where everything is made up of cubes. Each element or material is essentially a cube with a separate texture. Also, playable and non-playable characters as well as enemies and animals also sport the same basic design. It feels unoriginal, especially when you see a male character who looks like Steve, the main character from Minecraft.

In terms of gameplay, it sports similar elements from its inspiration. You can break blocks to earn materials within. The materials you gather will be used as the raw materials for crafting tools, weapons, and items that will help you. Additionally, you can also use materials to build structures like shelter and other forms of machinery. Unfortunately, the game is still riddled with bugs that cause blocks to randomly disappear.

Lastly, the game lacks a lot of features from the game it was based on. The backgrounds do not change real-time, there are no pieces of furniture for you to build, and the elements available are few. This severely limits the gameplay options available for you and if you have played the original game, you can’t help but compare the two and find this one lacking.

An incomplete copy

Craft Loki Maxi Earth copies the aesthetic and basic gameplay mechanics of Minecraft, making it a good port of the game for mobile devices. However, aside from feeling unoriginal, it doesn’t measure up to Minecraft and not because of the difference in the game platforms. There are a lot of missing features and the game still suffers from bugs. There are other, better recreations of the game for mobile.
